Samsung Galaxy A8s is official, the first with Infinity-O screen

A few hours after the Honor View 20 announcement, Samsung launched their own smartphone with an In-Screen selfie camera.

To avoid confusion, Honor is the first to announce a smartphone with In-Screen selfie camera, but Samsung is the first to fully launch a smartphone with the said technology.

The first with Infinity-O screen

Going back to the phone, Samsung stated that the Galaxy A8s is designed for those who love to explore, capture the moment and share it as they see it.

It features a big 6.39-inch FHD+ Infinity-O screen with a hole found in the top corner of the display to house the selfie camera. Under the hood, it runs with the 2.2GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 710 SoC with Adreno 616 GPU, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB of non-expandable storage, and 3,300mAh battery.

The handset also has a triple-camera setup. It goes with a 24MP f/1.7 sensor, 10MP AF telephoto sensor, and 5MP f/2.2 depth camera. It also features a 24MP f/2.0 selfie shooter with face unlock.

It is also the first Samsung smartphone with no 3.5mm headphone jack slot. The headphone can now be plugged in the charging port.
The handset also dual SIM slots and several sensors like gravity sensor, distance sensor, and light sensor.

It loads with Samsung Experience 9.5 skin based on Android 8.1 OS, and support for the new generation Bixby. 

It measures at 158.4 x 74.9 x 7.4 mm and weighs 173 grams. 

You can get it in elf blue, aurora black, and alien silver color options.

Price and availability

The A8s is now available for pre-order in China. But, there's no information regarding the price of the handset yet.
