Alleged Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 details leak ahead of announcement!
The highly anticipated successor to the Snapdragon 845 flagship processor has allegedly leaked ahead of the announcement: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855!
Snapdragon chipset! |
Qualcomm's best chip yet?
The alleged Snapdragon 855 will be the first commercially available chipset with multi-gigabit 5G support that is manufactured using the 7nm process by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. It will also come with a Neural Processing Unit that is integrated into the SoC package which promises triple the performance compared to previous NPU solutions.
The 855 will have four 1.78GHz power-saving cores, three high-end 2.42GHz cores and one super core clocked at 2.84 GHz.
The accompanying GPU is the Adreno 640 GPU, X24 LTE modem, X50 5G modem and the whole package promises to be optimized for AR and gaming and will come with a feature called the "Snapdragon Elite Gaming."
It features a new 3D sonic sensor that is an enhanced version of the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor which allows it to scan fingerprints even when a display is covered by a screen protector.
The most interesting new feature is that it will come with a special computational vision engine that processes data to help deliver better stills and video that was similarly found in the Google Pixel 3's Night Sight feature.
The new processor is clearly much more capable and will deliver a bunch of new features that will appeal to more consumers.
What do you guys think? Do you think this information is accurate?
