Breaking: Realme U1, the first Helio P70 device now official

OPPO Realme just launched the selfie focused U1 in India. It sports a huge 25MP front camera sensor and the new Helio P70 processor.

It is the first device with the new MediaTek Helio P70

The Realme U1 features a shiny back with 13 layers of Laminated Technology. It is dubbeda as the Light Pillar Design.

In front, it has a 2.5D 6.3-inch LTPS IPS display at 2340 x 1080 FHD+ resolution and 90.8 percent screen-to-boy ratio. This screen with a tiny dewdrop notch is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The U1 is also the first smartphone to sport the new MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor that is clocked at 2.1GHz. It is accompanied by the MaliG72 GPU.

There are two variants, the 3GB/32GB variant and the 4GB/64GB variant. It will also have a dedicated microSD card that can expand the storage up to an additional 256GB. The phone runs with a 3,500mAh battery.

The Realme U1 is marketed as a selfie focused device. It has a 25MP f/2.0 Sony IMX576 sensor up front assisted by AI. The rear has a dual camera setup with a 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 combo.

It will also feature "Studio-quality Portrait lighting" with filters such as Natural Light, Film Light, Monotone, Rim Light and Bi-color. It also has Slo-mo video, Bokeh and Super Vivid 2.0.

Other features

The Realme U1 also has face unlock, fingerprint scanner, WiFi, 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual SIM slots.

It loads with Android 8.1 Oreo OS with ColorOS 5.2 skin.

Price and availability

The Realme U1 will be available in India from December 5. The 3GB/32GB variant will go for INR 11,999 (PHP 8.9K) while the 4GB/64GB is set at INR 14,999 (PHP 11.5K).
